Hmm.. a note of caution with Mitsubishi. A mate has the latest model l200, auto, best he can get if he drives like a nun is 22 mpg. More realistic everyday driving only doing 18.5. Been back and forth to dealers, they can’t find anything wrong with it but admit it should be doing more . They flatly refuse to take it back as say their mpg figures are only a guide!!
They shouldn't be made to take it back until they actually fail to sort it out. Have they even tried? Are they competent? I wouldn't bet on either.

Seems to me he’s being fobbed off up to now. Been told they will look at it again at 5000mls. Can’t realistically see it improving by at least 10mpg in that time myself.

Yes from 2018 models on. I’m sure I read in the press the v6 were 3.5 ton towing in the uk from launch.

Mine has been known to tow much more on occasion without issue.

Yes I know that they, anything, can tow more than they are legally entitled to.

Yes, I see that Australian imports have been rated to 3.5 tons but this it what it says about UK models as of late November 2017
From here at Parkers
Towing capacity for the manual-gearbox Amarok falls to 3,000kg – 100kg less than the automatic alternatives and rather pathetic compared to most competitors.

Payload is rated at 1,050k, some 76kg less than the 204hp automatic.

Series 5 returning over 30mpg usually about 32. That’s on all terrains rather than road tyres. Was in the mid - high twenties but after 13000 miles seems to be freeing up. Can the weight limit be upgraded on an existing vehicle like Izuzu did with there’s a few years ago?

Wondered about an upgrade but probably not
Is the tow weight on the vin plate how would that work can tow different weights if towing one two or three axles

If there's one thing we should have learnt over the last few years, it's that VW aren't one of the most trustworthy of companies.

I think the difference between them and others may be the fact they got caught.

Ford are currently not doing themselves any favours down here with utes randomly catching fire and not admitting to the true cause which appears to be very poor wiring

The 62 plate L200 I occasionally drive averages 37mpg from fuel receipts.... and that’s some miles under blue lights! So fair play to it
