Anyone got an air temp/finishing temp for spring beans please, cut yesterday, a bit tough so expect nearer 20% than 16%mc.
Haven't dried any for years, but would rather do job in one pass if possible.

You will struggle to do them in one go as the outside of the bean will dry and the beans get to temperature it shuts off then cools then you put beans in the shed and they get wetter on the meter moisture meters give false readings especially non grinding ones

on my Opico 96 grain temp plenum 130 farenheight
heatthem twice then left to settle
final test 15.2 at Openfield t

My Masters I used the pea setting, took all day, thought I would have used a heap of fuel but actually used I think it was 80 litres for a 27t batch.
Temp was low, I will see what settings I used later as will be up there.
Had no issue filling and even turned it off full (dry) to restart the next day to run some more cool air through them.
They ended up at 14% when tipped at destination.

I used the smallest nozzles I had and got a temperature of 60 Celcius in the chamber. I didn't let the beans go above 30 Celcius either. Once they were up to temperature I shut the dryer off but didn't cool them and went and did some ploughing. I came back and put some more heat on at the end of the day. It seems to be the only way I have of getting the heat into the beans without cracking them.
