Mobile signal booster

Mobile signal here is poor and non existent inside the house / office. Mobile works fine through WiFi calling but doesn’t do texts through this. Many of the banks etc seem to want to send a text code for logins these days which we don’t get.

Is there any simple system to install that would boost mobile signal so we can get texts?

Thanks for the advice. Will try and find a setting on the phone to do it. It’s an iPhone that’s getting on a bit so maybe will only do calls through WiFi.

Had suresignal before. Works ok but doesn’t last very long and no longer available

All phones will do text through wi-fi surely? As long as the phone is connected to wi-fi it surely gets texts? I'm only assuming though, because mobile signal is virtually non-existent on my ground floor but since I've had wi-fi calling on Orange, now with BT through Orange, I've had texts instantly.

I think it`s a vodaphone issue. Son`s voda has just started working properly on wifi in the last month

A quick google suggests Voda have only started to support Texts over wifi calling in the last few months. There is a list of phones that will work on their website.
Had a long conversation with Vodafone earlier about this. They said it should be working - but it isn’t ☹️

Vodafone have stopped selling Sure Signals as so many handsets now have wifi calling capability.

There are cellular phone boosters available on eBay but I don't think they are legal to use.

Sure Signal was an awful piece of kit. They overheated and packed up in weeks or months in most cases. My 2nd one had "The Treatment", I took off the plastic case and drilled it full of holes to get a proper airflow through the unit. It dropped the temperature by 7- 8C at the top of the casing. What it really needed was a CPU fan...

If you are on O2 , then a business Boostbox is the thing BUT only if your broadband can support the Boostbox !! And you need to put the Box near a window looking out onto the main area of work !
Creates a 3 G hotspot ( that doesnt bother us , )
Its all a faff of course because O2 dont want to be arsed with it really
,but for us after years of crap 1 Bar signal that drops the call and doesnt allow you text messages right away at times - its been seemless .
But you need to register O2 handsets individually and it wont work with other networks of course

Do they still insist on a limited number of phones, same as Voda?

Hi Steve , I think they do ,but the business Boostbox takes up to 100 phones (as its meant for an office business originally maybe ) IIRC ,but dont quote me !! There again its not cheap either .
You can have the smaller Boostbox which is less money ,less phones on it and less range (the thing that made us go for the business box ) .
Think they say 100 meters line of sight ,but I can sit out on my slurry pump tractor 50 meters away and get full signal ,and it rarely sounds funny to the person you are talking too (apart from the rubbish I talk :D)!!
Not so good in parlour where there are a few soild walls but in the cubicle shed its nearly full service

The killer is usually most people who have poor phone reception ,dont have good Broadband
