Moddus - “Do not apply if crop is wet”???

Not really picked up on this before - thinking practically - are we talking bone dry or just not straight after rain but ok as dew is beginning to lift??? Thanks

I theory you are diluting the application over the leaf, but scorch generally only becomes an issue over 21degrees. I doubt we are at that stage yet. I would be more concerned if the crop was suffering from a physical stress already.

This. Moddus and other trinexpac products aren't the easiest to formulate - see how long it takes to wash a can out. It is also quite warm on the crop so I wouldn't have it as part of a multiple product (4+) tank mix on a soft crop.

wasnt it originally tempo? 0.5lt murdered the crop not much out the back of the combine , did they do much research before marketing it?

I am sure it works well in many situations. I was caught out with it here on winter barley. It didn’t rain at all after application and the shortening effect was very impressive. It even shortened the ears and the awns.
I have only ever used chlormequat since and not on spring barley at all for the last few years. The weather has shortened it well enough and I don’t use large amounts of nitrogen
