Pke has 50% digestibility, great as forage replacement but that's about it , high % of it is shell or bits of wood and then odd monkey 🤔, yes load of filler used in the old days pre BSE .
including such things as chicken shite, ground feather meal, sawdust, rice bran, etc.
But, the fillers they use now, to keep their profit up, are they actually doing anything, for the cow, other than sounding better names, than above.
It's pretty obvious that some things, such as soya, are on a zealots 'hit list', perhaps we should take more notice, of the ingredient lists, and with what, they use as alternatives, and of course, the permitted 'leeway'.

Hello Folk

I would like to ask a question to anyone in the south of England on here. Moist citrus pulp is a feed that has been around for donkeys year and in your part of the world you can buy it near enough as cheap as you can grow silage.

it is and incredible source of energy at 13.5ME and loads of fibre.

Cost per tonne of Dry matter varied between ÂŁ120 approx in kend and sussex to ÂŁ165/tn in hampshire.

so here is my question...

why do people continue to purchase Sugar Beet Nuts and PK at ÂŁ200/tn and above ?
It can go toxic if it rots.

I considered it once but won't take the chance.

orange citrus pulp is fine, however lemon or lime, cows don't like so much.

just as we do, sweet is better than sour.

sweet and sour chicken, from the chinese takeaway is ok though!
