Moisture Meter Clinics

Do most growers attend a moisture meter day somewhere or just use bought standardised samples?

Does every farm assurance scheme ask for a certificate for each moisture meter?

Our moisture meter clinic is tomorrow, open to members and non-members (for the first time).

Tea & biscuits will be available throughout the day (8am-4pm) and tours of the store will be given on request.

Our postcode is DN21 5TU.

Do you take yours to WG? I'm usually not around that day, so end up buying the biscuits then go & chat Claire up while I do mine myself. I've given up sending my non Marconi meters away for servicing as they don't hold a calibration any longer & I pay a hundred quid for a new battery & a certficate. I sent my Marconi to Dr Egleton 6 months ago for fixing & fitting a mains conversion kit & he still hasn't done it

I went to one on Tuesday, and only the wheat setting needed redoing.
I happened to have the paperwork from last year in the box, and it was reset back to what it was before that.
I've spent the last year with it slightly out because of last years clinic!:scratchhead::facepalm::banghead:

There's no hope for me then! Perhaps I should make an appointment to go & collect it before the old boy pops his clogs?

Have you spent the same time as I have on the phone with him. He is a very interesting chap but I just cant get him to stop talking. I darent tell him my father in law worked for Marconi.

Likewise. I have little doubt as to his ability to fix the machines, but major doubts as to whether he will ever do mine... I'll have to see if I can spare a day to drive to Lincs & back before harvest! If I can get any sense out of him I'll PM you.
