if its vice grips you mean then theres only one brand imo,..... Vice grips.
if its pump pliers then its knippex.
but that's only my take on things, you get what you pay for,

Yes and yes, on your 2 choices .
I have a 10 inch King Tony "vice grips" for several years . Very pleased with it , but doesn't "sit " that nicely in the palm of your hand , is only slight criticism.
I also have another 10 inch , that I bought in ALDI at least 10 years ago , as part of a set of 3 I think , for small money . It has the inserted jaws. I wish I could find another like it . Not a mark on the jaws .

I my experience, the Draper vice grips are crap.

Stanley used to be great, but quality has dropped off over the last couple of years. I had a bad experience with Irwin, too.
Milwaukee ones are good.
Curved jaws - only way to go. Flat jaws are pointless.

Got a new Knipex mole grip, imo its much better made than the Irwin ones I had (I mislaid them), very positive solid mechanism and really grip and lock hard. The new benchmark for mole/vise grips.

I saw an online offer in early December for Eclipse vice grips @ something like €11.50 + vat . Bought 3 of them . 2 of them as parts of Christmas presents , and kept 1 for myself . Obviously I havent done that much with them yet , but I am impressed with their quality , especially the " sweetness" of the threads .
