Mole ploughing water pipe

bought a tube from browns to install some 32mm water pipe but having trouble keeping depth. We have heavy clay ground here with patches of rock. so we have been running the subsoiler leg at about 18inchs a few times to clear a path incase of rocky patches and it runs nice and deep and pulls into the ground nicely. When we switch over to the mole plough leg with the tube and go down the same slit to put the pipe in we're only going in about 9/10 inches, it just won't stay down like the subsoiler leg.
Thinking of putting the down tube on the subsoil leg as it has more draft on it and more likely to pull it down into the ground. Any one got any experience of this??

You must be running the mole at too shallow an angle, can't think of any other reason for it. You should get it to pull in by making it more aggressive until it's running at the desired depth.

Possibly not heavy enough to pull itself into the ground properly. Try adding some weight to it to allow it to bury itself quicker

The arm sits in a frame with a slight bit of play, but this moves the arm back slightly which gives it more draft if anything.
Gonna rig up the tube behind the subsoil leg I think, that pulls the plough down in nicely compared to the mole arm.

I did about 600 meters over the last 2 weeks with a browns mole plough with a disc attached 20mm pipe to the back of the mole and pulled it through no problem in clay and the pipe was free in the tunnel, i did have the advantage of switching the arms to a spool so double acting, has the point worn on the mole so its pointed rather than longest side to the bottoms that would help keep it in a bit

The mole head is slightly worn but not badly. Still longer on the bottom. The sub soiler leg is the same except the head is rectangular and is pointing down about 30 degrees so pulls in really well, where as the mole leg is flatter and the plough comes up.
We bought the tube as putting in 32mm pipe and heavy clay with rock so didn't want to pull the pipe through stone invade we damage it.

a mate tried one with the feeder tube behind the leg and did not get on to well with it and ended up towing the pipe in but again in clay , do you know anybody with a tractor with double acting arms to hang on the front for a couple of hours
