Monday's summary:Brife cold snap

As we at metjeffuk have been giving you the heads up for some time now a cold snap is on the way, snow is in the forecast and severe frosts at night so growers with soft fruit and farmers with young livestock take note.

Monday:

The day starts dry with sunny spells in the far south but cloud and rain will be moving south followed by much colder conditions. With the showers following in for the north and west, these becoming increasingly wintry at times, snow over the hills over Scotland. High of 14C/57F in the south at first but only 4C/39F over Scotland.

A wintry night to follow with a hard frost and showers falling as rain, sleet hail and snow mostly around north and east facing coasts. Lows of -5C/23F in frost prone areas.

Don’t panic this is not the air temperature but the wind-chill, what it will feel like on Tuesday morning at 5am - So wrap up warm and take care of your plants and livestock.
wind-chill of -10 to -2C expected Tuesday morning.
