Moore 32 row vs 24 row

What are the pros and cons, mostly for grass reseeding/clover stitching but would like the option of cereals and cereal crops if possible.

I thought 32 row was for grass, 24 row for cereals. I would imagine 32 row would be fine for grass or cereals but with 24 row you would need to go over it again for grass at an angle.

Apologies, mis-typed, meant cereals or cover crops but the idea is the same. Would there be clearance issues with a 32 row if drilling into heavier covers, or would there be a tendency to bulldoze if sowing into ploughed/tilled ground?

I think penetration problems would be an issue with 32 rows.

I don’t think a 32 row drill will bulldoze any more than a 24 row drill. These drills tend to “run over” heaps and such like provided the ground isn’t ridiculously loose.

200 to 250kg per row is a guide to a decent disc drill.

There's no grassland drills that weight. An erth agriseeder is 1700 kg for 24 rows

We have a Erth 32 row and it needs a ton of weight to get to to penetrate, that is about 3 ton in total

Have you tightened up bolts on discs on your 32 row Erth ? Have drilled in very hard conditions with no weights no problem with penetration. I have seen it where bolts not tightened up allows too much flex in unit and can’t get downforce.
