How much to refurb a Moore??
Disk,coulter and bearings.....anything else?

Currently doing one we just bought and its getting a bit carried away.
Agrilinc do all the bits if you need anything.
Currently done all the disc bearings and seals, a new set of discs will be fitted and we need to change the coulters and these are the biggest cost. Hopefully this will then make ours usuable to get going for our farm use

Its a job to know and depends how carried away you want to get. We're just doing the minimum for now so 36 bearings at £3 each, 18 discs at £18 each and 18 coulters at £43 each. Plus some nuts and bolts here and there and some hydraulic pipes. It soon starts to mount up

I think we spent around £1000 per meter rebuilding the ours, which was more than the drill cost to buy it. As well as discs, coulters and bearings, that included items like the oilite bushes, a couple of disc hubs, a press wheel, a press wheel axle and rear springs. At the time we should have got tungsten coulters which would have pushed the initial cost up more and shortly after we replace the front springs too.

We are just about to order the parts. If we have fairly average stone free land and DD mostly into sprayed off turf, how many acres would we get from the normal coulters, as opposed to the tungsten type which I believe would last a lifetime in small farm use? We would be doing about 50 acres per year. Any guidance appreciated.

Your doing similar acres to what we're looking to do, it was suggested to me to buy the normal ones and put some hard facing weld on them so thats what we're gonna try

4 m on cultivated land standard cast 600 acres
6 m on ceramic 3 seasons old 4000 aces then added 4000 still usable

When used for notill It is important to have coulters that are in good condition for seed placement but in cultivated soil less so unless there is a lot of loose soil and trash in damp conditions
But as always do not drill if it is too wet
