Moore uni drill maintenance

Hi all, have had a Moore drill recently and it all seems to be working well. The only thing is there is some play between the mounting arms and their front arms. There isn't a bush in there to replace just a bolt and a grease nipple. Just wondering if anyone has a way of taking out the 'play' in this joint.

Thanks for any help

We had same on ours which was causing the disc arm to twist. We cut some flat plate and mag drilled a hole in it and welded it over the front arm where the pin goes through, done this both sides on a couple of the worse ones. Its not pretty but will get you by for a while. There is a bush in the rear section. Ours hasn't got any grease nipples like yours

While wear in the joint can allow twist, the main thing I found that actually caused the arms to twist as when part 18 was not aligned directly in front of the slot at the back of the drill that the arm slides up and down it. This can cause side loads that make it twist. The oil light bushes had got fairly worn on mine and allowed the links (part 18) to slide about sideways a bit on the shaft across the front of the drill. The arms could end up twisting either way depending on which way the link had slid. Wear in the drawbar pivot causing the ring hitch to be offset slightly had a similar effect.
