Any ideas for achieving this? I have seen a pic of a shaft drive taken from the bottom pulley, through the hole in the front axle to a bolt on pump stuck out the front.
Thanks

Depends what you want the flow for, but the front mount pump & separate tank is the most common approach I have seen.Any ideas for achieving this? I have seen a pic of a shaft drive taken from the bottom pulley, through the hole in the front axle to a bolt on pump stuck out the front.

Thats an interesting rig, where did the pump come from? And what on earth is the tractor going to be doing to require a tank of that size? This project was completed the other day. Customer required more flow so an extra hydraulic system was added to the tractor and he was still able to use the pto shaft.
I was going to say.......... ”but I still want to use the pto”.You can get an hydraulic pump that will go straight onto the pto shaft
I've never found them to be lacking flow. Either the customer has unrealistic expectations or there was something wrong with the standard system. This project was completed the other day. The hyd pump & pto gear box came from my stock at work. The reason we add the extra system is the silage bale unwrapper requires 25lpm. The tractors hyd system does not really cope with the constant work load. The hyd tank holds about 75 litres of the oil, which is sufficient to prevent the hyd oil over heating.Thats an interesting rig, where did the pump come from? The tractor is old and really wants replacing but the customer wanted to keep it. So the extra had system was fitted.I've never found them to be lacking flow. Either the customer has unrealistic expectations or there was something wrong with the standard system.
Not what I would've done but as long as the customer is happy. The tractor is old and really wants replacing but the customer wanted to keep it. So the extra had system was fitted.
3 pumps? I don't know what the answer is to that because I haven't had to change a pump yet.Customer is happy. Dare I ask what would you do. I have supplied at least three replacement pumps and installed a return filter.
Yes there pumps on the David Brown tractor. It has a new main the pump but with the amount of constant flow required to operate the attachment. The tractor hydraulics can't really cope long term. It over the top I know but there didn't really seem a better solution.3 pumps? I don't know what the answer is to that because I haven't had to change a pump yet.
If the pump and filter are good it has to be either the relief valve, the Selectamatic valve or the dump valve, there isn't anything else.
Is the internal pump still working because it lubricates the gearbox.
