More Traction

Need a bit more traction for the moler. Get to a tough bit and struggle to pull it which is not good enough.
Got the power but what would you do for another 15% grip? Not gonna use duals and the rear 710's are about 60% tread left and used at 10psi. Got some ideas below but what order of importance would you place them? 4 inch expander, 26inch depth of moles. jd7830/205hp

1 Put more weight on the front, currently 900kg(no linkage)
2 Rear wheel weights
3 Wider tyres

Get the 1940's CAT D7 going after a 25yr hibernation along with its trailed beam moler
Any other ideas?

You could used a mounted winch on another tractor to help it through the damper patches in the field

Get the D7 out but be aware if you put a student on it make sure he doesn't try and take it through the McDonald's drive through

Is 10 PSI not a tad hard?
They say the new Zetor Crystal/Ursus150 has awesome traction, might be an option?
Just be careful getting a demo, in case it wipes the JD eye

Do you need to mole that deep?

Yes, all the maps state 26"( measured to the bottom of the expander} One field is 28". They last well at this depth.

Have considered both, but a front linkage will take weight away from the rear so counterproductive?

Would enjoy a few days a year on the old D7. Running gear looks to have some hours left. Take a day to move all the cr*p in front of it!

We have a 600kg front weight and a 1500kg front weight, on discerating (implement running on packer roller) the heavier front weight makes a massive difference.

Get her pinned down!

As said ballast rear wheels and add bit of front weight

Get some proper spade wheels made just be careful not to break the half shafts as unlike rubber they have no give.

Just be careful with too much weight, tractors are designed with some wheel slip in the equation especially at slower speeds when the torque loads are much higher.
