S'pose all UK farmers should be bothered about is the general buy British policy of the current Morrisons management. I assume the corporate raiders had a meeting (Zoom of course) with Liz Truss before clinching the deal.

Cheap debt fuelling dividends. You only have to look at what these funds have done to UK utilities to know what's coming. Expect UK Morrisons will end up paying a license to use its own name next.

For some time Morrisons had been cultivating a partnership with Amazon to develop a platform in the grocery market. It was expected that they might even have made their own bid for the company.

'Bradford food store changes hands'.
Wouldn't be much of a story would it. The only thing that makes it newsworthy is the fact that they sell 10% of the (retail) food purchased in the UK. Which means that a change in ownership could have national repercussions, for suppliers and consumers. Market share is the root of all evil.
