I thought Morrisons have been 100% (or nearly) british meat for a few years now,(y) unlike tesco and Asda.(n)(n)

Think they'll still have to import their Bananas though.;):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The morrisions chap was asked specifically on BBC news this morning about lamb legs and the concerns the nfu have raised.

The reply amongst the waffle, was that 95% of the lamb is uk, but enough legs are hard to source this time of year and that nz lamb is in season now.

Reporter didn't bother correcting him that the frozen legs are Australian

It's only because the exchange rates gone to pot and it's costing more to import.
I wouldn't want to go into a long term enterprise on there whim. When it suits them they be importing it again

I'd think now is the time to try and

Morrisons , take a big percentage of cattle , and sheep and are constantly hauling into the area , to slaughter , they provide details via intranet of your cattle , how they have killed out , age , average daily gain , which is valuable information bringing farm and market closer together ,
They pay up to 430kg deadweight ,and have severe docking rates above this ,
I read elsewhere that last year 11percent of cattle going to slaughter were over 430kg , that's a lot of tons of free beef they get which has both cost farmers to feed and affects supply and demand in the supermarket ,

The other supermarkets don't have the direct links with agriculture for Scottish beef , but now is the time with the low £ where they will be trying or definitely should be establish links with British farmers which are beneficial to both ,
Producing over weight and out of specification does not help farmers cause
