Don't think there's anyone that wants the white elephant apart from Boris and I bet he wasn't even sure ...I think I’d rather have 250 more prison spaces. Same applies to HS2
And the gov want to start up and run a energy businessThings like this demonstrate that this country has had its day. It’s game over for Britain. Finished. Kaput. Bankrupt.
And the gov want to start up and run a energy business
Quite right. If it’s essential infrastructure it should be forced through otherwise it’s held up for years and millions spent as every Tom Dick and Harry objects often at no cost to themselves but at massive cost to whoever is trying to do some good for the country. That sort of thing has to stop.As I have said before, if there is a genuine need for such infrastructure, Govt should just force it through. Could have been open by now.
Along with the nuclear power stations they shelved. As I have said before, if there is a genuine need for such infrastructure, Govt should just force it through. Could have been open by now.
I've said this many times, several companies round here that would do it for nothing in exchange for no landfill tax, plant a few shrubs and trees and in a few years nothing visible, we had a new toad built through here on an embankment over flood prone land, within five years you couldn't see or hear it, it's another example of clever educated people making decisions that have not one gram of common senseJust have a free tip for muck away and build a bund
Be interesting to see if labour build more, last Blair and brown chickened out of the hard decisionsAlong with the nuclear power stations they shelved.
I guess there was an inquiry and for some reason that was deemed more appropriate than a frog or a newt.we had a new toad built through here on an embankment over flood prone land
unless, it's pylons!Quite right. Is there a genuine need though? As I have said before, if there is a genuine need for such infrastructure, Govt should just force it through. Could have been open by now.
The claim is that you shouldn't see the road from the stones not the other way roundIs there a genuine need though?
The cynic in me thinks this is just another ploy to charge a fee and if you can see it from the old road without paying, it's lost revenue.
It's a load of Codswallop. Those stones have stood there for eons, a bigger A303 won't bother them a jot. If you really think a bigger road is going to upset the integral druid energy of the stones and ruin the view on the winter solstice then just dig the road in about 10 foot, build some embankments and plant a load of trees alongside it each side. You'll never know the road was there, but no, some brainiac 'stakeholders' get involved and now want a fudging tunnel which the tax payer is going to have to cough up for. Absolutely ridiculous and another reason the UK is a muppet country.
