Just been to the local garage to have my wife's car tested and they said as of this morning,if it hasn't already run out, you can delay it for 6 months.

According to my garage if MOT has expired it is still your responsibility to ensure the vehicle is still roadworthy or you can be prosecuted!

I have time to rectify any faults now

I have had our 3 cars that needed MOT's done. Garage local to me is now closed,so nearest fuel is about 10 miles.

Quite pleased about this extension actually - tax and MOT one on car aren't aligned. Five month extension on MOT will mean I can get the two aligned ready for 1/10 when the tax falls due.

Mine was booked for April 22 they cancelled it last week

Mine ran out on the 26th March, local garage is shut, I emailed dvla to ask if ok to be included in the exemption, they told me NO, i have to get an mot. Which means i cant tax the truck either.

thats the case anyway.
an MOT is not proof the vehile is roadworthy at any other time, than when it was in the test centre.
