With great difficulty.
We have always had a problem with bikes and 4x4 around an old chaulk pit where we contract farm. It was only when someone was unfortunately killed in the pit 12 months ago that the police have been serious about helping. Apparantly they have crushed 17 'vehicles' this year, I'm not sure the number is correct, but I know they have seized some.
There has also been a crushed leg and a broken neck in the same pit in the last 5 years.
When we have spoken occasionally to the guys some are reasonable people, but due to ignorance they think they are running over 'grass' not a crop. A few years ago they flattened about £2,000 worth of wheat.
It is classed as criminal damage, so report it and keep reporting it so it alerts those in command of the police that there is a problem.

You will be the only party that the Police will be interested in if you lay booby traps and anyone is injured.
You have a duty of care to anyone visiting your premises, invited or not.
Move to Texas if you dont like this state of affairs.
I wasnt contemplating booby traps
Not a complete moron

They don’t like it if you can catch them on video, especially when they have mates in cars and vans. Police will add the reg’s to the ANPR system and give them a visit also.

We have an small old quarry that we use to store compost etc , a few years ago we had stockpiled sewage sludge over winter with a hard frost then some snow it looked very inviting to the local 4 x4 “ expert” ( who never drives over fields etc ) it appeared he nearly made it to the top before the crust gave way ? would have taken a while to clean it up by the mess he made getting out ?
