Moving A Non-Registered Vehicle On The Road

Aye-up,

I’ve got this Xerion home and working on it. Its been in the UK about three weeks and Claas Western are getting it road registered.

It’s the Kenilworth Show on Saturday and I would like to take it there, but as it can take up to six weeks to process the V5 it seems unlikely it’ll get done in time.

Is there any way I can legally drive it on the road?

Cheers, Pete.

My self propelled post knocker isn’t road registered and was tricky to insure, it can carry out work while on the highway but not travel to and from work on the highway.

Yeah, nobody will know(y)................

...........................there's only 38,211 of us on here (at the last count) and we'll not say owt;)

Anyway, why not get @Kevtherev to pop over and drive it there - any problems, and he'll take the points for you. Surely that's what business partners are for:scratchhead:

Tow it technically.
thats not legal.
Im not sure on how it relates to non "car" vehicles, but to tow a car on the road with "2 or more wheels on the road" (ie even a suspended lift) it must have insurance and an MOT (and i guess tax)
as that is the law on cars, i cant see you will be able to tow this machine before it is registered etc.
Plus, it would be an unbraked load, which when over 750kg, is not allowed either, except in certain cirumstances (emergency recovery i believe) which this is not.
