Moving AHL2

we’ve accepted an SFI offer and have 45ha of AHL2 split up into 10 blocks. On the offer we obviously named the fields for this year it’ll go in. However due to a last minute change to cropping I need to swap an area around. The total area will remain the same so is this just done on the annual declaration so the actual fields on the offer agreement is technically irrelevant?

Its an option you can move around/rotate every 12months

I’m aware of that but that doesn’t answer my question. One of my named fields for THIS year which I’ve already named on the application needs to change. Can I just swap it without telling them as long as the total area remains the same.
Think about it from the prospective of an inspection this year. In one of my named fields for AHL2 there won’t be any AHL2. It’ll be in another field not named on this years form.

If it is anything like a miserable as CS.. i would plant the other field and just confirm those fields on your annual claims return when you are asked to submit it... if they dont like it they just wont pay you end of arguement.. it seems a minor risk... crack on...😁

Technically you cannot change the fields
but the risk of loss is minimal

with sfi they do not fine on a parcel basis like the eu imposed defra to do on stewardships

so as long as your total area of the action is what you say it is then you are not defrauding the system/tax payer
and not trying gain From the change

if you use an agent you could get them to ask the Rpa and find what their response is but that may not help with what they do on inspection /check

recently the Rpa checks have been mostly record and photo evidence

the aim of defra is not to fine or impose penalties for low monetary issues

on a practical level Rpa will not be recording bps cropping on field basis so that cannot conflick and delay payment
up untill Sfi any minor problem delayed payment the detail had to be right befor they pay
now with Sfi you get paid in advance and they may claim back ( or reduce future payments ) so the risk with swapping one field from another is minimal

well we can hope they stick to that stated ambition but they have already demonstrated the goal posts are built on quicksand... :nailbiting:

No fines or penalties but prehaps "imprisonment without trial for life" might find its way into the next set of SFI scheme rules this summer??

if they do impose penalties for small discrepancies i can see the daily papers having a field day

on the lines of post brexit rules

rpas biggest concern is not getting enough farmers to apply and missing their targets

the weather has helped them this last 6 months

but they know that if they do not spend the money in the budget the treasury will claw it back and the rpa will need less staff
