Ive ordered a non conditioner front mower and pto for next spring to go with an existing non conditioner 3pt mower.

Has anyone done the same and were they happy with the output.

I'm hoping to be able to drive at a more sensible speed and not to be stuck between gear ranges all the time.

You’ll basically double you’re output! It will feel like one of the best investments made we did the same!

Well it just sounds too good to be true.

I thought maybe turning time, forward speed and dropping/lifting the mowers would slow be down enough to not get double the output. Will finally wire the the GPS in so we can just run up and down.

Haha, I had to use the front end loader the other day at an outlying farm and spent the whole morning having a tantrum. Makes you think how you ever managed before.
100% few years ago we bought a loader tractor and we’re laying 2000 concrete sleepers at the time and I thought having both going would nearly double the job, long story short we did 2 loads with the tractor and parked it up! Similarly have gone from an old 3 furrow Ransomes to a 5 f Kuhn which revolutionised that but neither compare to the front mower somehow

Front pto packed up half way through a 25 acre field last year and had to Just use the back one. That was heartbreaking! Output depends on the field, big long runs will easily double output as theres less turns but little fields 70%

We've gone from a 12' non conditioner claas rear, to a new 10' front and 12' rear claas conditioners. I was genuinely shocked at how much more power it took to drive them. Heavy first cut had our mf 7718S on its knees at 10kph.

Still heartbreaking with one though

How much you going to spend getting set up

This would be the tricky bit. Have front linkage but no pto. After that trade the trailed mower for a s/h set of front and rear.

It's more about the potential time saving for me that's attracting me. That and its demoralising hammering around with one mower especially on the rougher fields.
