Muck grab for loader tractor

GL66 (6 foot 6) is the biggest they do for a tractor loader, which is what I have.

You reckon a GS is suitable for a 2 tonne loader?
I mean just throwing it out there... buy a bale spike/ grab for bales... and a muck grab/bucket for muck ??‍♂️

Muck grab does both. Guess I could buy a tractor for some stuff and a telehandler for other stuff too ?
Wonder what he uses for pallets? :scratchhead:
5 foot merlo forks on a 4 tonne forklift backplate with euto brackets welded on by yours truly. Total cost £78 about 16 years ago.

I'll await criticism that I don't know what I'm doing and they're bound to be unsafe ?

Use my Sanderson grab on our Quicke/MF 955 loader. Think it's 6'6. Wide enough for our little MF/Bobcat telehandler, but not too big on the tractor loader. It's in a 6265, with a Farmforce 1.5m press on the rear for ballast. Makes a lovely stable outfit (y) Don't want to be too adventurous with a big grab full up in the air though..:nailbiting:

I think you would know about it with a 2.2 or 2.4m wide bucket grab cleaning out dung. I enquired about one for my massey 6470 and it’s nearly 500kgs empty and the man who I asked about said he had a 2.4m wide one on his massey 7499 and he definitely knew it was on there cleaning out dung.

I load middened dung in the field with an 8 foot 6 bucket (the one pictured in the first post). Provided the tractors ballasted properly it's not a problem.

What I don't know is how it would cope with tearing out big lumps of fresh dung from the court using a bigger muck grab?

No fancy making your own ?
Aye, but would need to make time first

@DrDunc 6"6 Loader grab is circa 350kgs (from the plate on mine) cubic capacity is 1m3

7"6 Cherry xform GS 76 is 490kgs with a cubic capacity of 1.7m3

What's the cubic capacity of your loading shovel sized bucket?

No idea what the weight of court dung is, how ever the biggest difference between 'loader' spec and 'forklift' spec is the time length with the loader times being 0.82 as opposed to 1.1m

Surely a grab can be ordered with the shorter tines, reducing the power/lift requirement considerably (there's an formula to work it out but it's 6.20am)

All weights and capacities lifted from cherry's website

Kind of hoping somebody else was using a telehandler grab on a tractor loader before I went out and did something silly ?

It's 8am and you've not done something silly ?:ROFLMAO:

Your using a telehandler bucket already, how does it cope with that full of henstuff

Bespoke might be your best option. 5mm hardox has more strength than 10mm mild. Can go larger with less weight with out jeopardising structural strength. Give me a shout if you get stuck, happy to share some ideas.

A GS66 will be okay if you want a bit more capacity but a GS76 probably a bit to much i would think.

A GS76 Grab is probably the most popular size xform grab so if you did buy one it would be the easiest to move on if you didnt like it.
