Muck/ logs grab

I have been looking for a grab to use for muck and logs , has anyone got any comments on the Stimech / JCB Hardox grab ?

We have one.
Works hard and somehow we haven’t trashed too many of the curved prongs or bust the hydraulic fittings too often

Thanks , I thought it looked stronger than the grabs with bolt in tines . Will be used mainly on wood so will have a hard life .

Ive got one identical to the one pictured above.only bought it to handle trees and logs which were cut down the wrong side of fence on meadows and easy to reach over with telehandler.dont do a massive amount but it’s faultless and makes my life easier

Need to correct you there, it isn't a strimech grab, its made for JCB by Eastern attachments in Norfolk, You can also buy it branded as a Cherry Xform grab.

Strimech used to do xform stuff but that deal ended a long time ago now.

@nick... has a Cherry xform which he had off me if that helps your decision. Another alternative would be the xform bucket grab with the sides removed, they are very strong too.

I was under the impression a true log grab is designed slightly differently to a dung grab so that you can't bend the tines on the grab that readily.

I think the key point is that you can pick up timber with a well built muck fork but you can’t pick up muck with a log grab.

Remember they are designed for muck, not timber.
I have a heavier duty one than that with hardox top and bottom and have bent tines moving timber.

The OP picture does have hardox tines its a decent compromise, for a proper log grab then Albutt make a good one but it wont pick up muck

I have a jcb grab bucket and a good dung grab both have there places but the bucket grab is my go to for logs though will still get a log grab when money allows

It's probably not fair to blame the design, so just take it as an operator warning: I've recently bent the rod and cracked the cap on one of the rams due to getting enough muck compacted behind it.
