Has anyone thought about or tried to set one of these up? Similar to a Tough Mudder or Wolf Run. Do you have any feedback?

Next door to us have a course, a couple of big runs a year run by an outfit called Man-Up uk, he has a large campsite and bunk barns and uses the course for the school groups/rugby clubs etc he has staying, its great fun to do, @mrs mtx has done it too.

Love the one by us,
It’s a lot more actual mud than the likes of race for life mud runs etc. I literally can’t touch the bottom of me ponds and have to swim through them, pallets over streams that you have to crawl up etc and you get home and your legs are ripped to shreds and it’s quite physical, I think it’s like almost 5 miles and then they introduced a 10 mile one? I can run a half marathon no problem but this really takes it out of me!

Lots of fun obstacles like climbing bales etc but a lot of physically hard ones. Nice t shirt but lacks a medal

I know someone who was organising them and he stopped doing it as he could not get the numbers to make it profitable he didn't own the land and had to rent it that would make big difference I guess but he said that insurance medical cover, setting it all up obstacles etc portable toilets, timing equipment , plus the fees for the company that took the entry fees etc all added up so he had to have over i think it was 200 entries to make it stack up for him. He could get that year 1 but the numbers dropped year 2 and 3 so he pulled the plug on it . He still organises other other stuff like night races that seem ok for him but the organisation is less , so numbers are not as key to profitability.
like everything location is the key I guess then finding a date regionally where there is not another event on etc im sure it can be done but needs a number of things to line up to make it viable
