My pure Lleyn lambs sell fine fat or store. I've put plenty through Longtown with no issues


But you need your eyes tested if you think a Lleyn is as poor carcased as a Mule

From what I've seen the Lleyn is like any other sheep. I've seen real Lleyns and real crap Lleyns. Just like I've seen plenty of crap Mules!!

One thing I can’t understand is the market wants clean white faced sheep, be it Texel, beltex or Dutch Texels. The Lleyn is a step closer to that than a mule. Yet we try to breed/ the fashion is dark faced mules?

as for 'They have no shape, and hardly anyone wants to buy Lleyn-looking lambs sold live as stores or fat' mule wethers are very much the same id say..

I bought a nice pen of long term texel cheviot cross lambs today. Right money, nice skins, touch of nice shape coming. Be ready late Feb/March. When I got the invoice they were down as Lleyn x cheviot. I can't pick them out of the pen of crossbred lambs. Do the job grand I think

fair play to them,just got to hope now for the purchasers sake we don't see a repeat of last year when plenty of theaves could be bought at £100 and estates were hawking them from sale to sale to get them gone
