On my setup, I can have Premiere Pro and After Effects on the dual screen monitors and the programme output on the wide screen tv.
if buying a new computer
get a graphics card with two out puts
got a work computer with motors ,...work really well
my old computer had a plug device and it was faff to set up for two monitors
There is no need to buy a pc with a standalone graphics card. Most modern integrated graphics card will run up to 3 monitors - 1 VGA, 1 DVI, 1 HDMI.
The only reason to buy a geaphics card is for gaming, 3D modelling, video editing etc. For normal office stuff and watching videos etc the integrated video card on the CPU will be more than fine and the standalone graphics card just wasted. The exception to the above is if you want a very high resolution, that won't run on VGA or DVI, or if you want to use DP(display port) instead of HDMI.

I use a docking station on my laptop so i can run two external monitors plus the laptop display.
I find it essential for comparing documents or copying from one to another as all the information is on display at the same time.
I got two monitors the same size so that they appear as similar as possible to make it easier on the eyes.
i like the keyboard, dont get on with the mouse though. Looking for an alternativeI like your mouse.
Tried that keyboard, didn't get on with it.
Trackballs are my thing have the Logitech wireless at the minute. Great for cluttered desks as it doesn’t have to move!
which one please?
they have two types - ball in centre, ball on left.
I suffer RSI hence the "special" keyboard and mouse.
thanks
I have a graphics card with both VGA and HDMI ourputs, 2 monitors side by side. Revolutionised my life, could never go back to a single screen now. I really need a third now.. anyone running more than 2?If you run it as an extended desktop, you can indeed have different applications displayed on each monitor. A two monitor setup is a revelation, even for office work. Think of it as having a bigger desktop, spanned across two monitors.
Since going to a two monitor setup, I could never go back to a single one.

This review of desktop monitors landed in my inbox this morning. There are some beauties and monsters in here..Just get a big enough monitor and you only need one

Just be careful about having them on staff computers. I worked at a firm which had them for the CAD staff and one member of staff sued the company for RSI from using a trackballAnother vote for a Trackball over conventional mouse.
I have these on each each machine here...........

I was looking into this myself & I understand you use a splitter to connect to another monitor, looked on eBay & see they are only about 5/6 quid plus a cable.Storeman sums it up well. It's a case of knowing what type of input your computer will take, often HDMI in more modern machines. Once you have the right cable it's a case of plug the extra monitor in and I think the setup screen comes up, if not find the 'Display' section in the control panel and it can be setup from there. Can't be without two screen now!
