Not sure
the ones the fairies grow are by far the best
They are called todstalls didnt you know, and they are actually used by fairies as houses, and as there is a housing crisis on at the moment it would be wrong to pick them

On a more serious note, how is it best to start a mushroom farm?

Good idea but there's not that many of them and what kind of niche market would they fill?

Go round the gastro pubs and fancy restaurants selling them when the mushrooms are in season. Get to know the chefs. They often like seasonal local produce. Looks good in the menu boards. Just don't pick a poisonous one.

Same with novel coloured vegetables and all that kind of stuff.

its funny a lot of farmers try to get out of one commodity production market and jump straight into another! we need to start thinking outside the box a bit more!
Well I've been trying to but I love tractors and loading shovels and loaders etc so I want to do something that involves them

Hello
Mushroom farming is one of the most profitable agri-business that you can start with low investment and space but before starting your own mushroom farming you should have proper knowledge about different mushroom spawns logs and temperature for mushroom farming. If you are still searching the whole information, then you can visit AGRINOON (FUJIAN) website, some days before I also got some mushroom log related inquiries from their website.
All the best.

A farmer i follow on youtube onelonlyfarmer, all he does is produce good hay for the mushroom barns. Apparently they pay more than livestock farms and he makes bigbales He delivers the hay and they compost it, once the compost is spent they had a problem getting rid of it, he had it tested to see what nutrients were left in it, he now gets it free to spread on his fields. This year he is going to plant maiz corn again after stopping for a number of years due to deer damage and is using it to fertilise for that after changing some fields from grass, I think all he needed to add was a bit more potash, he puts it down at 2.5 -4 tons/acre. Mushrooms is big buisness in the states apparently.
