I prefer to buy off farm, not interested in attending round a ring. Not sure there are many MV accredited breeders. But I would say the breed as a whole is regarded as much healthier than Blackies, which are addressing serious concerns about OPA in the breed.
Are you looking for hill (Lairg) types? If so, the sales are fast approaching with the sale of Hill NCC tups at Lockerbie taking place next Wednesday. After that, there's Lairg & Dingwall (miles away!) or Clitheroe and maybe Longtown.
I don't know anyone down here who screens for MV in cheviots.I prefer to buy off farm, not interested in attending round a ring.
Would want MV screening at least.

I am not well practiced at buying from auctions and can think of better uses for my time.I don't know anyone down here who screens for MV in cheviots.
Can I ask what the problem is with auction?
