Very neat! Is the CHP in the container with pumps? Are you separating digestate solids? How many cows for 52kW, or is there low quality silage etc also being fed?

Yes it's all in the container. Not separating it know but was tempted. Currently milking 150 but fairly sure it's not enough but won't know until it's up to full production which could take 2-3 month. When my dry cows and youngstock are houses then there's enough slurry. It's just summer when I may not have enough. It's slurry only but can also put whey in

No one box is a 22kw engine and generator and the other is a 30kw. There's a small water boiler on the wall to help heat the system up at startup

A neat solution to getting optimum chp efficiency, but at the cost of two control systems. At least it allows you to service one while the other is still running

Oh ok.

I am glad I stuck with omni / arena then.

How close are you to having both engines on now?

I left my order until a bit late but they managed to get it in just before the change in rocs.

I've attached a picture of mine, they have connected an oil boiler to get the tank up to temperature until there is enough gas to run the engines constantly and keep the tank at the right temperature.

I'm now at around 30-35 c and recently gone up to 12,000l of slurry going in a day.

I've had one engine on for 2 hours and the other for 5 hours now. We first put digestate in at the end of last month.

what is the target temperature?
what size is the tank?

I'm running one engine for 6 hours a day then next day I run the other one for similar. We're still on with building the digestate tank for the digestate to sit before it gets pumped 400 feet to my slurry tower so until that's built I can't put much in. Putting 3000 litre in a day and temp at 24 degrees but I'm up to 340,000 litre of slurry in tank now. We wanted to use our 200kw biomass boiler to heat tank up but biolectric wouldn't allow it really and would need a heat exchanger so my biomass water wouldn't contaminate the digester water.

I don't want my experience with Portagester to put people off buying off Dairy energy/Solcap because there great company's to deal with. They now have better installation teams working for them [emoji6]

Lol.

Are they paying you?

Sounds a bit dodgy tbh, different install team for every sale?
