My Biolectric 52kw AD Plant

Just wondering if it is anyway possible for a biolectric to actually achieve 52kw and how many cows do you need to do so! I was very impressed with the concept, but on some of the plants I visited, there was surplus slurry bypassing the digester! Which is why we opted for a larger tank! Is it right that the biggest tank that they use, is only 400m3 which for, say a 300 cow herd with say 30m3/ day only has a 13 day retention! Does anyone know, to any here or abroad managing 46kw+? It would be great if so!
Are there any Bioelectric running at 52 Kw? as needed for ROCS. We keep looking at forums and websites, and my friend went to their open day, only one engine working that day.
The OMNI 80 looks a good design. And with a good operator will work well.

Don't think they need to run at 52kw to claim ROC's, they just need to be able to which Biolectric have proven they can do. You need to think of them as a 44kw because 44kw is a more realistic figure. Mine has a 22kw and a 30kw generator inside it but we have limited it to 44kw because Electricty Northwest wouldn't allow me to export any more than that

Dont understand. Thought the 30Kw generator is the 22 Kw running on pure methane, not biogas? Does Bioelectric 52 come with a gas upgrader as standard?

I wasn't aware of that so I can't comment but I didn't think any of them ran off pure methane. That's what makes them affordable. Gets expensive when you start turning biogas into pure methane I've heard.

The Bioelectric sales leaflet says, in the small print, purified biogas (34 MJ/m³) for the 30 Kw genset. So it could be the same 22 Kw running on pure methane (purified biogas)? This is getting confusing!

Reading various websites and forums, are there any farm digesters that can use energy crops from less than 300 acres and/or slurry from 150 cows?

Any case studies or open days planned?

Open day is this Thursday if anyone’s interested in coming to have a nosy round my dairy unit or digester. Here’s another drone video showing the farm and digester

What are people putting in there plants to control H2S and froth/foam?
No problems with foaming. We use air injection into the gas mixers to keep oxygen levels at 0.4-0.5%, which keeps H2S down to 100-150 ppm. Without treatment it was offscale at greater than 5000 ppm.
