They’ll be a lot of us on here with the same problem
Legacy of noisy tractors, noisy machines behind. Using chainsaws etc without ear defenders. Shotguns without ear plugs
We’re all invincible in our twenties. 30/40 years down the line we can’t hear as well and wonder why !

Does here need an eye test if so Specsavers do hearing tests as well so he could have one at the same time as the eye test, that may be better accepted by him.

Is there really any way to treat deafness

Not sure about treating it, perhaps it’s just managing it.

My dad is the same , hearing is getting worse but wont have a test , even f he did i cant imagine him buying a hearing aid let alone using it !!!

just have to keep chipping away trying to convince him .

hearing aids are are now or at least can be very discreet but why anyone should be bothered about using one i don't know , we all are happy enough to use glasses why we should take hearing aids as being a sign of old age or something i really don't know.
