Site ready for the new grain storage/mixing shed being built by PDRD. Planning past, ground works due to start next week and shed due to be delivered soon. Will keep you posted.
In the defence of @PDRD, they build a bloody good shed.
When I put up another they'll be asked to price.
I had a long planning process to go through, and Phil kept a date for me. I made several changes and spec on the building and it was no problem. If I'd have dealt with other larger firms, then I expect I'd have been too late to change details.
Been a bit of a nightmare .
Site dug out and foundations dug and holding bolts concreted in.
Just been waiting on the shed turning up.
Had one load of steel a week gone Friday and the final load today. Shed was supposed to be delivered on the 29th June. Couldn't get hold of anyone to find out the situation when the shed didn't turn up on the scheduled date. Suddenly it was straight to answer phone, no replies to e mail. This lasted for 10 days and I was fearing the worst.
Gladly the shed is here and steel work looks ok. Just the service and continual false promises have been a joke. The excuse was they were too busy!
The last load was a week late and no phone call to tell me of a delay! I have now had to source the whole of the rest of the shed myself and getting the drawings and specifications from Phil has been a nightmare as he just does not respond.
Had to organise alternative storage and drying for the OSR as not going to be ready. Have bought 750t of wheat at harvest and looking like I am going to have to make arrangements for that too.
I think I must be too far away. Went through a long period working out what to do with my grainstore, got design, got quote, requested drawings for planning, that's where it went wrong, I have had more response out of a brick wall. Reading the above I am rather glad it did go wrong at that stage and not further in, that would have given me more problems than wondering where a few hundred tonnes of grain is going this year, which is what I am now faced with.
I have started again with another firm, it will be well documented on here as it has already got further than the first attempt.
