Did bloods and fec count on sheep last week showed low b12, and showed high level of rumen fluke vet , so I went off and bought Levafas Dimond which contains Oxyclozanide which I though is the indgredient that kills rumen fluke? Vet says it does not work and I need Zanil quoted £140 for 5ltrs .

Now Im really scratching my head as what to do, Zanil woul require 2 drenches? As you can only does up to 20ml in one go and they require 4.5ml per 10kg are 75 a 80kg

we used levafas diamond in cattle for both fluke,
took some sample from a few cows before treatment and 3 weeks after,
cows tested had fluke before and all clear 3wks later.
we even tested a cow we didn't treat and she still had both flukes

Stop getting carried away - as I said in the linked thread - adult rumen fluke not thought to cause a problem in this country. If you have eggs no reason to suggest treatment is even necessary.

I hear what you say but having seen a heifer with rumen fluke at PM I can't believe that they don't at least effect production to some extent.
Admittedly she didn't die from the rumen fluke and the others on the bunch didn't get ill.
If you have to treat for fluke and you know you have rumen fluke doesn't it make sense to use Oxyclosanide now and again.

Is it getting to be a bigger issue?:scratchhead: I hadn't even heard of it until a couple of years ago, but I've recently heard of several farms locally, with two different vet practices, that have treated after vet advice and seen good responses.
