If the crop is very forward have you done a canopy measurement to assess how much N is already in the plant? There are some big savings to be had in some crops this year.

Interesting comment, we make an as/urea liquid, so therefore apply a lot of S, and yet I’ve never seen it deter pigeons, not once, just seem to hit the crop as hard after application as they did before.
all i can say is theve buggered off since application its maybe just a coincidence but whatever they have moved on for now

Done most of OSR, W.Bly and 2nd Wheat with 40kg ha N. first wheats and anything with muck has been left.
Some OSR has been left as I'm not sure it will make it.
being a bit fiurther north and atm almost in a drought im planning on having done the osr putting a sprinkling on the wb and none mucked non first wheats this coming week. . Purely on the basis we can travel ,it might pee down or be too windy in 10days and as ever being a tad early has been proven to me over the years to be far better than being a bit late or worse too late

We’ve had a lot of rain this weekend and strong winds . Water lying on fields.
So glad nothing has been done yet as it’d be wasted

I'm trying to remember who told me to hold off as any new growth would just be pigeon food. I'm hoping they are right. Getting itchy feet now, particularly Contract HEAR OSR as although looking fantastic going in to winter is now looking a bit sad. All W Barley 2nd wheats and backward first wheats has had 2.5 t/ha broiler muck. Which it seems to be responding to.
