How much N are you typically using on a milling wheat crop?
What's going to eat the feed with less livestock if current agenda is pushed through !
50kg N to get a miller to 13 percent. Or use that n to get an extra 2t/ha from a feed. About. Subject to weather etc.
Well you have told us of far bigger premiums in the past? And your total N is how much 250kg/ha????takes us at least 40-60kgs more N to get protein and millers rarely yield quite so well as a group 4
Crops don’t always make quality so you would need to factor maybe 1 ot 2 years in 5 where the extra N doesn’t increase gross output ?
plus lower yields and 1 or 2 extra passes through the crop with applications
all for £10-20 premium

How does applying 300kg/ha N fit with regen ag?!!!! Use little over half that on feed wheats here….
180-200kg here on selected varieties to grow through Camgrain cleaned wheat plant.
Well for us it’s going there anyway so yes, pays for storage and a little extraviable for a £20 premium over feeds?
Classic attempt to corner the market!Given current N prices my calculations say milling wheat is no longer viable vs feed unless premiums increase significantly
anyone else thinking similar ? will everyone grow more feed ?
