Have been using radio RTK and looking at adding N Trip to our base station. Unfortunately no access to the internet near it, so would like to know what kind of data modem, sim card, N trip caster etc would be needed and how to configure it please.

If its a Trimble Ag542 it has a built in Caster. I'll send you some details of a modem and SIM you can use. You can find the model details on the back of the Base Station. You'll need a fixed IP SIM if you do it this way. If you use secure encryption on it you will still need an secure key in your tractor.

How far is the base from a point with access to internet? You might be able to use an XBee radio to deliver the correction signal to a caster next to internet access. Would avoid the SIM card costs at the base.

Not worth the hassle if the SIM suggested by PJ Walker is not expensive (data costs vary a lot from country to country).

Thanks for the suggestion. It would be approx 40 metres to get to an internet connection. Having not used data RTK I hadn’t really given much consideration to the cost of data at both ends. Could see that adding up compared to what we have been used to with radio.
