That we can manage on a lower income and that I'm fed up of the railway life. Currently looking to go back on the trucks like before. Other than farming, that was a job I really enjoyed

Non essential shops closed, which begs the question why open them ever again?
Let’s face it most sell stuff that ends up in landfill within a year or two. It’s a sad reflection that the economy can’t survive without it. I know the boss of a fancy dress / party accessory company. Turns over 50 million selling stuff that is used once then chucked away. Big employer here and abroad, multinational sales, big exporter. Good business but what a waste.
Gym membership to pedal a bike in shed going nowhere. Then get in the 4 x 4 to drive hone. Economy depends on it, apparently.

I knew there was a garden in under all of that over there, somewhere.

Really enjoying the lack of screeching from near neighbour's holiday makers. Why people come on holiday in the countryside and make such caterwauling and shrieks is a mystery.

(Near neighbour has had all their grants, etc, plus keeps a sum for bad years, so in no hurry to start up until schools go back.)

Hasent everyone a few bob more in their pocket since that senseless shopping was halted.
The pollution levels for everyone has dropped dramaticlly and we all know know that all farming continued as normal.
The important industries and businesses that were really needed stayed going and farming is one of them,

Those that were buying it might have more money but anyone involved with making, transporting or selling it is out of a job. Same with the airline industry and other businesses that depend on it, tourism etc.
If everyone just stays at home, stares at 4 walls and only buys basic food to survive, then the worlds pretty much knackered.

Trade and money make the world round, Whether that trade is in primary products or is spent on frivolous items is irrelevant, as long as it is spent on something.

I can understand your point but speaking as a farmer I could see that everyone around had enough of what they wanted to live and when this is all over I would have to question the need for some of the excess spending that goes on. Alot of travelling to meetings could be done with video, We as farmers are never valued to the extent that food production should be,

Whether everyone around has enough to live depends on how you want to live. Whilst I agree that farmers are not valued enough by the general population they do have an envious lifestyle, working for themselves, from home, with a high degree of job satisfaction.
If you have a tedious job driving to and from the office every day, the holidays and frivolous items may make it worthwhile.

That is of course true as long as there is money to pay for it, if it's all on borrowed money it can only go on for so long
Debt has been around for hundreds of years As long as you have the ability to pay interest on it then there is no problem. It can go on for as long as you want it to.
