If it was purely a farming show then i'm sure it would have been open... Sadly its not. Ive lost money but hey, it was the right decision because of health and safety......

They cant help the weather but the on site organisation today was poor. The chap on gate telling deliveries where to go didnt give a damn! Lack of forklifts was awful which meant people parked where they like and got frustrated then stuck!

I remember going a few years ago and being told, if you don’t have wellies go home. It was a sea of mud.

Cheese show is still on, free admission

Oooo! Bound to be some fine freebies then! Usually come back with a stack of cheeses for the fridge, but totally cheesed out from the tastings, and not able to look at a piece of a cheddar for a week...

3 year ago I went and took my daughter (who had shown Shorthorns there a few times) and her Venezualan work colleague. She was absolutely gobsmacked at the Cheese Exhibition.... and the samples. A real pleasure to take and see her reaction from the whole day, Apparently, she talked about nothing else for ages afterwards!

From the website.

The International Cheese and Dairy Awards Public Day is still taking place in the cheese pavilion, along with the Celebrity Chefs so all those who have purchased tickets for James Martin will still be able to see him. Entry tomorrow will be Free of Charge and will be open from 9.00am to 4.00pm. There is limited parking available however we do encourage those who are coming along to park elsewhere to alleviate the Car Parking situation.

I would take a dirt bike I think!! Easier to park in a corner... :)

It's been a bad few days. This was Heckington (on the way in - on the way out, it was worse) on Sunday..

...Show went ahead thanks to efficient organisation by the committee . Plenty of tractors to get us in and out.
I was told they refunded the trade stands' money as a gesture of goodwill.
They've now had 3 wet/storm ravaged shows in a row - here's hoping for better weather for them in 2020.

It really was cancelled last minute. We'd set off with our cattle, like a lot of other exhibitors, and were told to turn round. Speaking to some others there was already quite a lot of cattle on site. Think they will of had a lot of rain over night, I know we have in Buxton, so I'm quite glad to be home and not up to my knees in mud. Still very disappointed as its one of our favourite shows of the year.

Today has not been a good day........ I certainly didn’t order this gazebo to land on my car and scratch and dent it ..... luckily the stand next door was Cheshire’s police who witnessed it all!
