As @Speedstar said get a hotel booked early, longer you wait the further away from the show grounds you have to stay and travel. Tractor pull is where it's at, at least for me anyway, it's a lot of walking around during the day seeing all the new machinery and so forth, so you'll enjoy sitting in the seats watching the pullers.
I admit I've only been once (500 miles from home :sneaky:)so I'm not a good one ask as far as fine details..... do check out the arena where the pulling tractors are on display:cool:(y)can't remember the name atm..
Have fun and enjoy

Was there three years ago, if tractor pulling is your thing all well and good. Compared to agritechnica it is very average.

I went a few years back. Wouldn't bother going back- I wouldn't even say its average compared to Agritechnika. All the hotel prices rocket for those days - hotels that are normally $80 for the night go to $400 per night. A $5 buffet breakfast goes to $20.

The main focus is livestock- pigs mainly. Not very much machinery or technology at all with lots of handling equipment instead.

must be a while since you were there most hotels do a free breakfast, if booked early they are not that expensive , have walked a round the show & thought it was a very good show with lots of things to see, but the Tractor Pull is our thing Broadbent Arena is the pits were the Pulling tractors are parked each day & spend hours walking around there talking to customers & people that we deal with, but every one to there own, but for us it is a great way to spend a week in the winter .

Two years ago. Dont know if that counts as a while ago....

I heard it was the same last year from some colleagues. Even my yank colleagues thought it was an absolute rip off.

The show has had record numbers going for the last few years so can not be all bad , tractor pull is sold out , I would rather spend a week there than a week in Spain that is for sure,

I didn't go but several friends were there
How close were you to where the flying driveline landed?

I was 20’ away from where it hit the barrier see the photo attached. Absolute miracle no one killed. If the part hasn’t hit that steel guard rail there would have been a death 20’ from me

Yes

With regard to the show I have to say our group (6 of us) were a little disappointed. We planned on two full days at the show but all of us agreed that one was enough. The general feeling was that the show and equipment were behind what we see in Europe.
Spent the second day in Louisville at the Ali Museum and a trip to Churchill Downs home of the Kentucky Derby.
Had a great tour including a very interesting visit to a livestock market at Lexington. Fascinating discussion at the market with the auctioneers and farmers. Traceability in the beef chain as we know it DOES NOT exist in the US.
