National Trust ending tenancy

We have just been informed by the NT that they want to take in-hand all of the land we have and focus more on nature. We are tenants of the NT with a 100 acres of permanent pasture. We pay £2400/month rent and are completely up to date.
We were planning and investing in the next five years when we get told the NT want the land back. Don't think we really have any recourse as there's a break clause in the lease. So we are looking to take on another tenancy hopefully somewhere in the South West. Any advice or pointing in the right direction would be much appreciated. Cheers

The NT have been telling members that they need to change, and cut costs, reducing staff. Well that another income stream they are losing.

Paying rent like that I cant see you struggling to get a tenancy. That is obscene unless there are a lot of buildings and a big house with it. Just keep looking around as there have been plenty over the few months and I would imagine there will be plenty more coming up

That £2400/month can't be per month year round can it?
Summer months?

None the less, you're not alone. They're steadily hoofing out all kinds of farmers in favour of hunny buggers.

There's an irony that they're evidently feeling the fiscal covid pinch, but at the same time steering land management away from earning potential.
(ELMs might be their saviour....but I think it's more a change of direction toward 'saving the whales' )

Say you would be happy to get out of that deal and then see what the say 288 per acre leaves nothing for you in my mind. offer someone els 200 for permeant pasture and i bet you get the ground. Sorry to hear all this.

National trust have a £100million black hole!

rangers who work outside maintaining ground still on furlough to save money?!

should be taking 288 pounds for every acre they can!

Know of a NT farm where they wanted to make it open access to the nearby new town with the tenants becoming park keepers.
Tenant said no ta. So they all parted company, house is let and farm land is "managed " in hand. Right cobblers I heard!

The bitter irony for NT is there push for rewilding could be there undoing. Given there current finances and the fact there actively trying to devalue there assets, combined with a potential Elms scheme disaster, could see the whole lot bought from under them for less than they paid/stole just to keep them afloat.
