Hes from instack aberdeen angus, their stock bull is his sire. The heifer is from an ordinary commercial cow, sire is our other instack bull whos a rawburn lord ross son.
We had a Lord Ross son for 3 years, left cracking looking cattle that sold really well!! but as his daughters have come into the herd it has become clear they are very poor cows, was told to stay clear of the myostatin gene carrying bulls, for this reason!

I was just talking about him last night with my mate and we thought the heifers were too good to keep for cows! If that makes sense?! Hes bloody lame on a back leg now vet out this morning. Hes only been out 6 days!

Droimeann Cow (not mine). Wonder what the population of the breed is at, surely it must be very low.

@Sweepa Do you know if these are being bred in Northern Ireland or Eire and what they are being registered as on CTS or the Eire equivalent?
Interested because I am involved in recreating the Sheeted Somerset breed and I have had a battle with DEFRA to have a breed code added to CTS. It now appears as LVSP LV Somerset Project on the passports. It would be useful to compare notes with breeders to overcome the bureaucracy that has crept nto cattle breeding since passports were introduced making it difficult to create a new breed and have it recognised by the system.
