8th February 2021 is new date for the diary.....having left CSS at agreement end date of 30 th September 2012. Natural England knows best!!!
Went through similar except I managed to avoid the court bit. In any other walk of life, Natural England would be done for fraud and corruption! I ended up with my MP and the Parliamentary Ombudsman involved.
They demanded £8k back from me which I managed to reduce to £2k. If I had wanted the last £2k back, I would have had to have taken them to the European Court. I received a letter of apology from NE but they said they were governed by European rules and couldn't pay the final £2k back. The Ombudsman said that they have no jurisdiction over European law . In the end, it just wasn't worth the hassle for the remaining money and it was swallowing mega amounts of time. In my view they should have paid compensation and interest. They are charletons, crooks and thieves and should be avoided at all cost!! A contract only applies to you - not to NE!

And yet a man near here, who left at the end of an FBT but still farms, was found to have drawn several thousand for capital works that were just never done. They decided not to pursue it because he was known to be difficult’!

Heard similar here, except it was a large building company who owned the land. Supposedly broke every rule in the book. When NE came calling the building firm told them that their lawyers would tie them up for years. Of course NE did not pursue it.

No money dispute/involved....they were jilted because I refused to renew a stewardship agreement at term end. EIA regulations trying to establish a precedent.
Be warned taxpayers! ...NE knows best.
That just says it all. It is supposed to be an "Agreement" with both parties agreeing! They are happy to dictate terms and devalue your land. Good on you for standing up to them!! They sould be boycotted until an organisation fit for purpose replaces them.
