Is anybody else still using a Naud Plough? or your neighbour's/friends? Or am I the only one?

Just interested.
We don't do much ploughing, but we use the Naud when we do unless it is a large field with no obstacles when we might drag out the 9 furrow Besson.
Wearing metal is not the cheapest anymore, and Spaldings have discontinued doing bits although it is still available through Kramp and Sparex. but I have some friends nearby who are scrapping their Nauds so I have been getting their old bits and bobs and old ploughs to keep ours going. Still does a tremendous job.
Might start a club of Naud users and invite the regen ag lot to join.

I know nothing of them but Are the mouldboards on it very similar to those on the kuhn H4 body ?

We’ve got a 5f, 7f and 8f. A Naud for any occasion.
metal is getting harder to source right enough, but they’re strong ploughs.
This winters project is to see if we can adapt them to take KV metal which is about half the price. Mouldboards are proving especially hard to get/prohibitively expensive. A neighbour has converted his besson (I think) to KV metal, but the Naud frogs are welded to the legs as opposed to bolted which makes it a bit trickier. Might be better off just buying a different plough, but where’s the fun in that?!

Is the besson metal not similar to Naud? I remember thinking it looked very similar.

But the reason I like them is the Naud body and skims. Nothing else will do the same job on our land. It is the shear bolts that really lets it down - often need a forklift to push the body back into position.YES!

Besson actually bought Naud for the trip mechanism, but our Besson will not do the same job even on No8 bodies

We’ve auto reset bodies, and a lot of stones.
have you sourced any mouldboards recently? I bought the last of the Spaldings ones years ago for around £100 each, got some for the 5f thru pan anglia last yr but they were up over £200 each I think. Think krampe still do full range.

Yes 7f is a 4 +3 with a spring box in the middle, 8f is 5 +3 with hydraulic rams in the middle.
8f is a real peach to use, swing it round as tight as tractor will turn on the ends, no figure of 8 or shunting, can keep the ins and outs really neat, it makes a cracking job.

In the south we would use a machine to get that out of the ground. Obviously uup north you are made of stronger stuff. Please tell us your fork supplier, they don't make them as strong down here either.
