Naughty RSPCA

Who will really pay the fine, I suspect it will be suffering animals when it should come out of the fat cat directors pockets

I suspect that's why the fine was a paltry £25k when the report states it could/should have been 10 times that. The fine is largely irrelevant really. The real pain inflicted will be from the continued negative media stories about the organisation and inevitable fall in donations.
The move from the founding principle of Animal Welfare into political campaigning for Animal Rights has done no good at all to the reputation and finances of what was once a highly respected charity. And tempting as it is to derive some satisfaction from that, the real losers are the people at ground level of the organisation. (Who from my experience are generally decent and motivated by the founding principles of protecting neglected animals). And of course, the animals themselves.

How is it that by openly hiring (using donated money) 3rd party companies to 'fill in the gaps' in members personal info , the directors of these charities aren't guilty rather than the charity itself?
The people at the top should be accountable for their actions.
Yes, if it was you or I, it would be us that the RSPCA would be after to prosecute, not a more general farm company. The directors would be held personally responsible. But this is the RSPCA, so different rules must apply.

Unfortunately this is the situation generally in many "not for profit" organisations, including government ones. Unless and until the prosecuting authorities have the guts to directly charge, not only directors as you suggest, but also senior staff who instigate these schemes, nothing is going to change.

I think you are aware from previous posts I have made that I had Chief Officer status in public service and I find it deplorable that people who profess to be giving their working career for the benefit of the public are out and out hypocrites only interested in furthering their own financial gain.

I knew many people who were genuinely interested in giving their best, and I found no objection to them also requiring a decent salary to do so, since in many cases they were capable of earning more elsewhere. Unfortunately I also knew of a few who were only interested in money.

It will cost a lot of money to do so. Are you interested in making a small donation? I think it would have to be done by someone in england or Wales. @Danllan can probably keep us right.
My understanding is that anyone is able to make an application the ICO for a review of a case - I don't think a specific fine can be complained about (but I have only a basic working knowledge of this); however, the ICO is liable to Judicial Review, but that is VERY expensive and equally hard to get. Sadly I think they have been fined about as much as is likely to be possible.

For anyone who does want to see the RSPCA reined in, and I am one of them, a better bet is probably to encourage the current Parliamentary scrutiny which is, very gradually, pointing toward the RSPCA losing its right to prosecute and / or being properly held to account.
