Navara D40 ,,Nissans free update

Has anybody managed to get the Sat nav updated free of charge through Nissan .
When I bought my D40 ,the sat nav didnt work ,the cd player reads discs but dosent play them and the radio has a habit of turning itself of after a few minutes and then comes on again .
Rang the Nissan dealer and apparently Nissan UK are doing a free software update if the unit has a certain code on it .
Anyway, its going its next week so will see what happens .
I cant stand things that should work but dont ,,really bugs me .
I like my music on cds LOUD and its not working

The unit on my 2013 one hasn’t worked for about 3 years. Was told it was big money to replace by Nissan dealer so have left it…. Be nice if they are actually doing something about the problem

If I knew how to ,I would but there's alot more wiring than an older vehicle where you just use a pre wired connector from halfords

You can use a cheapy harness adaptor off ebay as long as you don’t mind loosing steering wheel controls etc etc or more expensive adaptors are available.
