We've got a single axle 2250 gallon Nc. About 2 years old, hyd changeover on pump is handy, brakes are very good on it. Lights high up on rear is a good thing too. Seems a well made tanker to me.

A well made tanker but very wide with a single axle and 30.5 tyres. Definitely well over the 2.5 metre limit. 2250 and 2500 gallon tankers are available with tandem axles which would be better on the road and probably narrower

Had a good look over an NC tanker on a farm I did some work for, it was a very well thought out and well built tanker. In every way a lot better than the abbey we had to use.2500 would be enough round your way Matt as I bet they have some steel in them

We have 2 NC's bigger than you're asking about and both twin axle. The older ones done a serious amount of work and never been any bother, the newer one is just over a year old and has a slight bother with the non steering axle but NC are upgrading it in the new year

The NCs I've seen had no chassis they just rely on the tank for strength has this changed on newer ones? My Abbey is a fine tank can't fault it has a chassis aswell so you can fit a dribble bar ect which could be handy if splash plates get banned in the future

This chassis is where the problems start, they bold the linkage arms onto it with no thought as to the stresses that the trailing shoe or injector will put on it both in work and in transport. I can't remember if either it the two tanks ever came back from a days work without some kind of problem, not all down to operator error!
The tanker was at a farm near Crewe Matty, it had a trailing shoe, sliding axle and auto load arm. It also had a pipe inside to let it empty down hill.

its transport that does it, you cant go 50k with a single axle tanker simple as that
how thicks the tank on a NC then? beacuse to be stronger than a tank with a chassis it will have to be very thick

It's not just transport that's the problem, believe me. One was a twin axle and both gave problems not just with the linkage either, the whole tankers were poor but as I no longer work with them I don't have to worry when I see one near the workshop waiting for some more treatment

That problem you have is common on all tankers that size using ADR axles, Seen your new axle the other day look a bit better than your old ones but still they will be on the limit for that size on 2 axles.
