1st off this might be in the wrong heading, but might get to help some one spray painting in future,
but mods feel free to move it if you think fit,
right on with what happened, as i am feeling a bit better now,
earlier in the week I had some paint spraying to do, not at home, as the item was to big for doing at home, but it was to do out where I keep most of my stuff at, now out there i don't have mains electric, and with all the daylight at this time of the year don't need lights so no problem,
i do normally just use the air off the wagon for any odd bits of painting, plug into an air tank and away you go,
in the past this has worked fine, and to say i dont do that much painting, could of fired up the geny to drive the workshop compressor, but geny needs looking at, so short fix was to employ the wagon air tanks to do the job,
i say short fix, this might of been my last fix,
now in the past while spray painting, i seem to end up with lots up my nose while doing the painting,
so after having enough of that i thought i would invest in one of them air flow masks that cover your whole face that feeds air constantly to the front of the mask, Very good idea I thought, would be better for me, and better for my lungs and stop blocking my nose up by paint sticking to the hairs, and end up for days picking it,
now does anyone yet see where this is going ?
well the wagon was sitting out side of the shed, now normally in the past tick over is fast enough to keep air up, however the air mask takes more than i thought, so set the wagon to run at 1500 rpm, this was fine,
I know your going to say not the best thing for the wagon, but no different than a trip at them revs/
all was fine and away I set off what i thought would take less that an hour, turned out to be nearly 2 hours,
now after about 30 mins i had a bad head, but as i had started i needed to finish the job, took 2 aspirin mouth full of water and carried on, by the time i had finished, I was far from good, that night was painful could not stop coughing, and well you can guess the rest,
turns out the wagon compressor was taking in exhaust gasses into its tank for my air flow visor and paint gun
so i was not getting 100% clean air, nor could i smell anything wrong with the air,
SO A WORD OF WARNING, DON'T USE AN AIR FEED/ AIR FLOW MASK OFF A ENGINE DRIVEN COMPRESSOR
please ensure that it is clean air,
I am off work and still not good, but on the mend slowly
ps dont wish me well (you might get told where to go), just see that the above don't happen to you
