I've been posting a few pics as we've gone along but here they are together.

Bit of background -
Permitted development for change of use on 3 brick buildings to residential.
Application rejected 2 days after the time limit. (Still laughing)

Cottages 1,2 and 3.

Just to make sure cottage 2 was Agricultural.

It was opened up and machinery stored before planning application went in.
We'd heard all sorts of stories on here.

Good job the access is good.

No problems with Highways there.

12 months after permission 'granted' we got started. Jan 2016.
Decided to rip floor up and do as much internally as possible before removing roof.

50 tonnes of rubble removed, must have had pigs in at some time as had air space 'insulated' tiles under a skin of concrete.

Most of weight to be taken by new internal walls.

Pan mixer tested the seals on the loadall hyd pump.

Scaffolding going up.

Oil tank for existing house moved.

First half of roof off and into plastic.

Decided it would be best to rebuild gables as galvanised wall ties were rusted away.

Steels going in. Photos only taken on good days. Block man just kept on working. Bless him.

Swapped and away we go again.

100mm kingspan in floor.
Green stuff on wall is oldroyd membrane, just in case any water gets through old brick walls.

Another 'while you're here'. Power and mains water into Nissen hut. Why not?

Armoured 25mm mains cable and 25mm water pipe into cottage 2 for next spring's project.

Spent £50k so far.
Second builder has been putting studwork and insulation into cottage while we've been outside.
Electrician done first fix.
Plumber gone AWOL.

Asbestos Nissen hut is coming down ASAP once we decide where all the stuff in there is going.

Decided to fit just one, big enough for all 3 cottages and a bog in the workshop. Very posh!
Quite deep, mixed continuously.

Aren't modern cameras great, when we renovated this place I took over 1000 pictures.

I take it those spider things are for the height of the screed.
