Just politely remind them that even vegans were once an egg!

We had a member of Extinction Rebellion come to speak at our last grassland meeting. He is a vegan. Considering it was a room full of livestock farmers we gave him a warm reception (even offered him supper - which he politely declined)
Granted, it was very different to say a keyboard confrontation, but by the end of the evening, I think it was fair to say we had more in common with him than we all realised.
One thing that went down well with him was being given some good suggestions for books to read.

The link above takes you to the 'dark' side of the forum, but there's some good suggestions there about how an holistic approach to agriculture really can work for everyone. (Vegans included)

I’d suggest to him/them that they take their concerns up directly with the Chinese authorities and convince them to go vegan. Good luck with that one! As has been said, challenge them not to allow themselves or their families to be vaccinated when one is available, as it will have been tested in animals (along with all other vaccines and medicines).
When vegans develop rumens they will be onto something, but until then, veganism will only cause death to our planets ecosystems.

From BBC news

They have also found that there was a 5-10% drop in CO2 over New York and a solid drop in methane as well.

Being vegan won't save the planet, sadly a human virus may do?

Is it just us or has anyone else noted the climate change activists are VERY quiet at the moment???

Social distancing applies to this question and NO implied or associated connection be it correct or not implied also :)

You can’t argue with a fool , I’d say let it go - I’ve been in the same situation. There are many many people in this world who like in a very tiny bubble. Don’t worry about them

I notice their trolling on various farming /dairy social media pages has reduced enormously.
No doubt they will be back using this pandemic and it's supposed source to try and further their cause.

I know it's an easy hit, but can folks please try not to put 'vegan' and 'climate change activists' in the same category.

The biggest issue facing mankind 3 months ago was our relationship with the natural environment. Nothing has changed.

There’s no such thing as a guilt free lunch.

Given that ‘Veganuary’ was twisted around livestock farming being “the biggest cause of CO2 emissions” (a very reasonable 4.32% according to the EU(y)), these pious pricks need to understand that their chosen lifestyle has an enormous impact on the environment.
Impossible demands for ‘organic veganism’, GM soya shipped in from America, intensively farmed almonds responsible for an environmental catastrophe in California, avocados grown for Mexican drugs cartels by farmers under threat of murder; oat ‘milk’ which is really an emulsion of oats flour, water, preservatives and imported rape seed oil grown with neonicitinoids‘, the list goes on.
This is all part of an elective lifestyle choice, but in reality it adds up to the unquestionable dogma of an authoritarian cult.
